Emerson’s Legacy: Remembering Our Radiothon Hero

A letter from Kristen Small:

I am writing to share the inspiring story of my beloved daughter, Emerson, who continues to touch lives even after her passing on February 18th, 2024. We are honored to announce that Emerson was chosen as the 2024 Radiothon Champion, and her story will be shared during the upcoming Radiothon on October 10 & 11, 2024.

We want to thank you, the Miracle Teams, for fundraising for Radiothon. Every time you ask for a donation to your team or personal fundraising page, whether it be from a friend, family member or colleague, you make a difference and help change lives like ours through CMN Hospitals.

From the moment Emerson entered our lives, she captivated us with her blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and unique personality. However, it soon became apparent that she faced numerous challenges including a cleft palate, digestive problems, hearing and vision issues, foot deformity, seizures, developmental delays and mobility problems.

CMN Hospitals played a vital role in her care journey, starting with her time spent in the

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, helping her grow with adaptive equipment at home and assisting our family with funeral expenses. As I reflect on Emerson’s journey, I am filled with gratitude for the support we received from CMN Hospitals. Their unwavering presence made a significant difference in our lives, and I am forever grateful.

Emerson taught us countless lessons. She showed us the power of love, laughter, compassion and inclusion. She taught us to be strong and kind, and to cherish each moment. Her journey was filled with bravery and resilience, and she is forever our hero.

Please join me and “Team Emerson’s Legacy” in fundraising for CMN Hospitals Radiothon 2024 to help other children like her. Your generosity and involvement will enable CMN Hospitals to provide such vital resources, support and care to families facing similar challenges.

Thank you for taking the time to read Emerson’s story and for the time you will spend fundraising for Radiothon. We hope you will tune in to hear our family’s interview on October 11 at 5pm on KQ98, Z93, or 95.7 The Rock.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Kristen Small
